Prologue

John and Aurum got a lead on an adventuring party going out to look for a treasure in a southern land. They went to The City of Katta Confluence to meet up with this party at a tavern and inn called The River Dragon.

They joined a party of two human female fighters, named Sarah and Lexi, and a gnome male wizard, named Wafaa. John joined as a researcher from the far eastern kingdom of Zicheng, and Aurum was his aid and guard.

They traveled about two weeks south to a long abandoned village that was carved out of a cliff face. The best John and Aurum could tell was the village may have been named Poladna, but Wafaa kept calling it Klenotnice.

Debate did not go on for long before a massive sandstorm forced the party to enter the village structure for safety. While inside they slowly moved about looking for traps, treasure, and anything of use. After a while of looking and finding more traps then anything Wafaa began to accuse Aurum of pocketing treasure and setting traps. This lead to a very heated argument that almost lead to blades being drawn, but a Djinn to show up.

Getting the Djinn to show may have been Wafaa's plan all along, as he wasted no time before firing off a Magic Missile. The djinn took the shot and wasn't phased by it it returned with a Vertical Bolt of lighting instatly killing the gnome. The two fighters quickly rushed to the fight before John could tell the to stand down. Lexi rushed in sword and shield in hand while Sarah let loose a volley of arrows. The two arrows fired were deflected at Lexi hitting her in the foot pining her in place, and John in the chest square through the right lung.

Aurum rushed to John to render aid. While her back was turned the other two were finished off by the djinn. The djinn approached Aurum and said, “You were one of two that trespassed but did not attack me. What, is it you want?”

Aurum stated cautiously, “My master and I came looking for knowledge. Anything else was going to be given to our village.”

“Small one you use the word MASTER in a odd way,” the djinn replied.

“But he is my master,” she said almost definitive.

“No, little one. You have a master, but he is not it is he,” it said in a almost loving tone. Before she could reply it said, “I will give you the things that you want. First I will save his life before it is gone. Then I will change your pack with him. And lastly I will give you the foundation for the bond you want.”

After that a flash of light Aurum found herself in the middle of a camp of men with a purple kobold head in her lap. She was in such shock that she did not notice all of their equipment get taken and the two of them be put into a cage.
